What to Expect

Our first meeting is an assessment to determine what you want to work on and  the strengths of your relationship. We can look at  your family and relationship history. It's best if you attend the first session together,  however it is possible for you to come without your partner. This would need to be agreed by both partners.

Ongoing, I would usually see you individually for one  session and then see you together in subsequent sessions. 

In the sessions we can look at what triggers arguments or the lack of connection in the relationship. For many couples lack of emotional intimacy is a real issue. We can identify and unpack the patterns you both repeat and  the negative style of communication you can get stuck in.

 We look at ways you can support each other to get more of what you want and ways to allow you both to feel closer to each other.

Typically I work by seeing couples on a weekly basis in the following areas:  

• Improving  communication
• Talking about future plans
• Dealing with stress
• Parenting styles
• Descalating arguments
• Rebuilding trust after infidelity
• Understanding depression
• Addressing controling behaviour
• Domestic abuse

I'm trained and experienced in supporting couples to improve their sexual connection in the following areas:

• Differences in desire
• Low desire
• Shyness, shame, and trauma

I'm very experienced in working with  gay couples as well as  working with couples from diverse backgrounds.

I do not charge for cancellations but would like 24 hours notice. I offer concessionary rates in certain situations. I follow the BACP code of ethics.
